Hi, There are several ways this can be done. Many newer car stereos have direct inputs for things like iPods, others have audio input connections for pretty much any kind of player, often a mini-earphone type jack. Others have USB (like in a PC) connectors. Some take the mini-chips directly. There are many possibilities. An old school way is with an external device that is actually a small FM transmitter. You plug your player into it and it sends a signal to your FM radio. Some use batteries and some plug into the 12 volt outlets of the vehicle. These are OK, but not super and will work. They are rather inexpensive typically about $25.
