Hi Everyone, For all you diyers that want to use a low output MC cartridge with your standard phono preamp I recommend using Lundhal 1678 MC input transformers. I wanted to maintain the -90 noise level in my system and found it was going to be complicated and costly to do it will all tubes. For techie reasons it would require two more stages. So I tried a pair of the Lundhals. Excellent sound, no added noise and you can set the gain (with this model) of 8, 16 and 32 (egads). I used 8. The price is reasonable too at $84 each. There is a sole source (apparently)in the US. K&K audio. Nice folks to work with.

Good Listening
Bruce
