Took piano lessons for 7 years as a kid. I could play classical pieces pretty well, but I had to practice and study. Never really could sightread unless I went real slowly and that frustrated me. I was impressed by musicians like Rick Wakeman and Keith Emerson and so ultimately decided that my best gift was in designing the equipment that would make the sounds, not in being the musician that created them.
