I would personally go with 2-way bookshelf or small monitors that can get down to at least 60hz. I'm not a fan of subwoofers as a bass frequency replacement (20-280hz), but maybe you are, so take that into consideration. I would likely choose something that has a lot of mids for low volume so that when they compress at higher volumes the bass and treble will get louder and not the rest so much. That way you can listen to them at a lower overall volume.
