I think you probably just have a loose mount. Gently tap the microphone and listen for the buzz. Try to tighten anything that appears to be loose.

There is another possibility. I doubt this is it, but you should be aware. Microphones can sometimes act like loudspeakers. If they are fed a drive signal, they can produce a sound. So if the stand provides a ground and the signal line is floating, it is possible that the microphone will complete the circuit and buzz. If that's the case, it won't probably live long. The singers might not either, if you have a hot mic. Laughing
