Sorry our tastes didn't mesh. 45 minutes-- well that's _half_.
Maybe I just like Bruce Campbell or anyone as Elvis and Ossie Davis
as JFK. It was more a One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest for me
than any vamp rip-off. I liked the Egyptian hieroglyphic
grafitti-- Bill Epstein would appreciate that I betcha---
it's his sort of sense of humor.
Especially after those posts about Sandra Dee. After all,
Bubba is bemoaning the fact that a nice young thing doesn't
even care if he's in the room while she's adjusting her
dress or what ever it was. Bubba says, "I might as well be
a housecat." I kinda feel that way myself most days.
I cannot mount a big defense for the film. It was recommended to
me by the staff at the store-- one of the "film buffs" if you
know what I mean-- someone who's prob'ly seen Casablanca a
bunch of times unlike me who bailed at about that same 45
minute mark.
There haven't been any at all picks to click and I remembered
what you all said about "I Heart Huckabees." I will avoid that
like the plague.
With my new dvd player I am catching up on commercial-free
star trek episodes and old plays. The ones I picked up
at the library are Jacques Brel Is Alive And Well and
the "Antigone" by Jean Annouille. Also got the gy-reen show
called "Basic" with Travolta and Jackson. I'm not ready for
much heavy duty drama so I'll put that in first.
