No not cheap. More of a purist type of arrangement. All the ones I have heard as a true single driver sound thin and I suppose you could say pure! I can’t call a single driver 'arrangement' a single driver any more when you ad a subwoofer, super tweeter or both. I have heard some awesome sounding systems with a sub and super tweeter though.
