I think active crossovers are a great idea, but you'll need to copy the filters exactly for proper summing.

I have another suggestion: Split the subwoofer output instead of the midwoofer and tweeter. Run the mains on one amp and the subs on another. That way you can leave the optimized passive crossover in place, and use the woofer amps for subs.
