Amen brother, even though on some stage arangements I have to split the subs, but I try to make sure they are about or no less than 40' apart, and try to use what room boundries are available to bring the room loading up. With split subs you have to worry about what they call the power alley too. Where some of the frequencies combine and are reinforced while the other ones get cancelled@(1/2 wavelength), not including the room nodes being added in. So while you may have slamming bass on a dance floor, there will be no bass through out the rest of the room (aka) the power alley effect syndrome.grrrr.
