Even though it is a large horn, it is actually undersized at the lowest frequencies and benefits from corner placement. You don't want to make it any smaller if you can help it. I suggest adding trim to the front of the cabinet that extends the mouth. We add hardwood trim to our midhorn cabinets for aesthetics, and it actually extends the mouth a little bit. See the photo below, you'll notice the trim added to the front of the horn, forming the mouth edge. We bevel the trim to match the flare angle. You could also radius the edge to soften it if you wanted.
