Sounds like you're up to something really cool. You'll want to use Martin King's spreadsheets, possibly in addition with others, in order to model it properly. That way you can investigate possible layouts before cutting wood. I expect you'll find certain driver placements and crossover configurations that work very well and produce a nice response curve. If you get serious about it, let me know and I'll look it over with you.
