OK, so last night I popped in a pair of GE 97F motor run oil caps @20uF in place of the Solen 22uF's on the compression drivers of the Theater 4's and like the effect. There is a bit of a watery, quavery sound that I expect with new caps but I hope that will settle down after a few more hours. But the first couple of hours of listening reveals a more continous harmonic sructure with a reduction of grain that I often find Solen caps add to the sound. Very musical effect, so far. The only down side is a possible reduction in the amplitude of the high freqs which of course, may be just an aural/mental responce to the missing Solen "tizz".

G.
