Unless you really, really want to do it for style. It's not necessary and in fact there are a lot of high end studio monitor's with built in horns where the horn protrudes from the baffle. Even the flat front horns wont see much difference in response unless you are really pushiing the horn to cut off frequency. This is not the case with the 4pi crossover.
