Mine give a very good image, and in my rooms they're not very fussy about the setup. Mine are on the floor against a wall. With good source and amps, the speakers can disappear, and with their dynamics "live" recordings sound especially good. As I've improved the rest of my system, the 2 Pi's have kept up nicely.
