I have a pair of Cerwin-Vega speakers I bought years and years ago. Model #36-R. The rubber around both woofers has completely dried up and broken away from the speakers. The other parts of the units are in excellent condition. Because I love them so, I would like to replace both woofers. My questions are:

- Who makes/sells a compatible woofer?
- What specifications do I need to match in order to make an appropriate purchase? Starting with the dimensions (12"), power, req response, sensitivity. Cerwin-Vega has been no help!
- If I were to upgrade the woofers, what specs will I be limited by (besides its 4-8 Ohm impedance).
- What should I expect to pay for a pair of compatible woofers? I guess what I'm really asking is: Is it worth it? Or are the new speakers that much better? I've listened to a lot of new speakers in my day, but few can match the range and depth of my old 36-R's.

Thank you in advance for being as complete with your answer as possible.

Best Regards,
p2
