A horn is a device having an entrance (throat), passageway (flare) and exit (mouth). So horns are made by bringing a megaphone-like device in near proximity to loudspeaker diaphragm. The system is usually sealed so the radiated sound has to pass through the horn with no leaks. In the case of the π cornerhorn, the horn for the woofer is formed by the walls of the listening room, itself.
