Don't forget to remove the foam from the ports, they are just glued on the back. I took my ports out in my first pair only to find out it is best to leave them in and just rip the foam off. What amp are you running the 4 Pi's on, I think the older Marantz sounds better with that 16 ohm load than some 8 ohm loads I have tried on it. What I really like, is I can run the volume control up to 10:30 (position) which is before it starts heavy in Class "AB", get around 102 db (average) and run it all day long, and the Marantz does not get any warmer than if I had it at just loud enough to hear. It's nice to crank all day long and not stress the amp or speakers. Keep me informed on your progress. The 2226 is a hell of a driver, You won't get the bass extension of the Eminence, but the dynamics beat the hell out of the Eminence. Fast attack of mid-bass is killer and best attribut of 2226 to me. A good hard drum solo is what the 2226's will shine on. Okay, I used up my nickel. Thanks, Ron
