That's right - In fact, you don't have to even redo any connection. The capacitor of a second-order low-pass filter is in parallel, so all you have to do is pull the cap. No circuit path is disrupted by removing this capacitor. And - Yes - It's easy to identify because there's only one 10uF capacitor on the board. There's 8uF and 22uF in the tweeter circuit which should remain in-line, but only one 10uF capacitor. Remove it for your 2226. Be sure to reverse polarity on the woofer, but in this case since black is positive on the 2226, reversing makes red be positive which is how you would expect to hook it up anyway.
