My guess is your ideal crossover will be very much like what's used in most models of π Speakers having asymmetrical slopes, electrically second or third order. First-order and pseudo-first-order filters work well in some cases but since your woofer generates output to 4kHz, I don't think it's going to be a good option. I'd probably use a higher order low-pass filter on the woofer instead.
