Well, I wouldn't call it a 6J6 amp. The finals can be 1619/1624 or HY69 if we're going DH. The 1624HY69 only requires a change in filament voltage and suppressor plate connections.

On filament current. With a TX capable of doint 2x 6.3@2.5A and a 2A variac on its primaries, you can dial in what ever filament voltage you want. hell even 807's souldn't take much more fiddling to get running. All of them run the UX5 socket, so minor wiring and a twist of the filament knob and your convertable amp is off to the races. All take the same size anode cap...

Perhaps label it as the E-Linear for the time being...

The "S-265" ought to read "S-265-Q, modified". For maximum future versatility, I think you guys should get taps at 20, 30 and 40%. We'll use 30% for the first build, but I have uses for the others for tweaking and other options, and this is how I will get my next pair done. You can even use two at a time, one for g2, one for the drivers. The circuit is adaptable, that's part of why I like it so.

As for a name...I am happy with the "Merlin" suggestion.
regards,
Douglas
