I think making the fingers the same width as the stock is klunky-lookin'. Also, if you clamp and re=clamp for each pass you'll soon tire and quit. If you must clamp use those Jorgensen finger clamps that look like giant clothespins. Much quicker. Better yet, spray glue some sandpaper on the jig to help hold the workpiece in place.
