Scholl,

I recently finished breaking in my XR45, running it via coaxial from a DVD player in my notional two-channel HT. Unfortunately, my old DVD player flamed out at about the same time and I just got the Pioneer DV45a to use with it. I'm running them 24/7 to speed up the DV45a's break in. Once I figure out how well they work together, I may bring the XR45 out into my main system to hear there. I have my doubts that it will cause me to sell my amp and linestage, but I have to try anyway. Regardless, if it is good for my HT set up, I may look into some simple modifications (eg, a normal IEC connector so I can use a decent cord without an adaptor).

Wayne,

I picked the XR45 up via an internet dealer for $300. The coaxial feed seems to be the best, albeit that channel won't work for some DVD-As or any SACDs if that is what you want.

Regards,

Chris
