Any switch will work provided the voltage and current rating are appropriate and the number of poles are right. It is nice if the part will physically fit without having to modify the cabinet.

If your switch moves in only two positions, look for 2T (or DT). If it switches one circuit, it's 1P or ST. If two circuits, it's a 2P or DP. A switch with two positions and two sets of contacts is usually refered to as a DTDP switch. Switches are also rated by voltage and current limits on the contacts. If yours is rated 250V and 10A, get a part that meets or exceeds that.
