The systems program "msconfig" should do the same thing, and it is already installed on your machine. Go to the "Start Up" tab and look at the programs loaded when your machine boots. Uncheck anything that you think might be a problem. DO NOT uncheck anything with a path that includes "system" or "system32", and you might need some other stuff depending on how your computer is configured. If something stops working that you need, go back to "msconfig" and check it. Bob
