Perhaps you should have tried a second bottle? To A/B the effect?
During and after my traditional First-Nite-of-Chanukkah dinner, a Pecan Pie and a bottle of wine (Sangiovese this year, mmmm)I noticed an extension of the lush mids into the treble. In fact, as the night wore on, everything became lusher and lusher.
