The law is correct, but there is a common misconception associated with it. It's true that from a given driver, box size and alignment that there will always be a trade off between size, extension and SPL. However, from a given box size alone there is not an absolute relationship between extension and SPL. The driver parameters and alignment are just as important as controlling factors in the equation.
