Hello Take a look at this. It might leave you with more questions but its a good summary on magnetic materials and why we have ferrite in most speakers now. Alnico can demagnitize especially in Pro applications but for home?? I think you would be fine. If you buy old alnico Pro Drivers ???? Crapshoot
