Right now I'm playing my Technics SL-1210 into $100,000 worth of amplification, cables and speakers. Yup, 100 large.

I wish you all could hear this. RMAF, Hrumpf. Unfortunately, the speakers are leaving next week and the mono-blocks end of next month.

Point is, the SL-1200, which you can get on any street corner for $200 used, or $380 new can become an outstanding source. One with a Grado Gold (anything less is excrement) will make beautiful music. later, add the silicone damping trough. Upgrade the output cables. Get a fine moving coil cartridge and a set of step-up transformers or a moving coil phono stage.

Oh,ohhh, here comes Nurse Ratchet......gotta go......
