I am interested in any mods you are willing to pass on.

I have spent time listening to the XB1. It is nice sounding in soft way. Nothing to worry about, but it lacks a bit of bite. Particularly in the bottom end. I was using a VFET amp (known for bass) and a couple of Pioneer CS911s (with 15in bass drivers) and alnico tweeters.

The plinth is actually not bad. I will probably keep it as is. The deck really isolates external vibration. The 1967 advert is right you can strike the top plate with no effect on playing
