There is something that I've noticed over the years when it comes to refining my home theater and that is the possibility of even movies that were not seen as great being good once I  got the sound right.

There have been some nights when I wanted to watch some movies just to pass time, but I ended up enjoying every bit of the experience because of how good the soundstage was. I had such experiences when I saw movies like Pacific Rim and San Andreas...neither is a masterpiece in storytelling, but with good surround sound, they become a lot more fun and immersive when I have the chance to watch them.

I want to know, does a good home theater setup improve your movie watching experiences even when the storyline of such a movie wasn't really impressive?

I've got a similar experience, but that was when I watched Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

The collapsing buildings, the explosions, and the deep bass make a noticeable impact when the surround sound is perfect. In a case like that, I am always in awe by how the movie sounds through my speakers than what the story is all about. The bass alone excites me at that moment.

Oh yes! I think Transformers: Dark of the Moon is another movie that one can enjoy more with a good home theater setup. It just suits the sounds in the movie.
