I've been thinking about those special radio moments that one can easily remember. Is there a particular radio moment that still stands out when you play it on your system?
Maybe it has to be a clear, distant radio station late at night or a classic show that felt so real when played through your speakers. Do you remember any that was that was that unique to you?

I personally don't listen to radio for a sensation of reality or clarity. It's not a qualitative choice for me, and I don't expect those things from radio at all.
I use radio for convenience. It is a convenient way to get background music and information.
I also kind of like it that I know thousands or millions of people are listening to the same station. Especially when I'm listening to a program being broadcast live. When I know that a program is airing with unique content - and I'm listening live - that gives it a spontaneity similar to what I experience at an in-person event.

Beaker St. Radio KAAY, Little Rock Arkansas early 1970's. Hosted by Clyde Clifford. A midwestern hippy-dippy trippy show. Clyde spaced out his vocal delivery like he indulged regularly in herbal recreation and played the popular head music genre of the era. A late night ritual that captured that time period perfectly.
The system back then was pretty primitive to play through. But then, it really didn't matter.
I can still remember one beautiful moment where I caught a distant AM station blasting Old Motown songs through the static.
The feeling that I got listening to those songs on the radio is quite different from when I play them on a record player. I remembered adjusting the antenna and turning the dial slowly until the signal came in clear. It was a sweet moment that I can't forget.
