A smorgasbord of the big picture in our world. What's going on and why. The United States has dominated the world geopolitical scene acutely since the end of WWII. When the world was recuperating from the big war. This new century has seen that dominance waning. And now its taken on a sense of desperation to hold on to that dominance from the U.S.. These two articles put into perspective what is playing out now in our world. The good, the bad and the ugly. Most of which I have to say of the latter part of that phrase is what the U.S. is doing in the world. Unfortunately.

One of my regular haunts for gleaning the twilight's last gleaming from our country in the world and at home. The New Atlas, with Mr. Cleanhead, Brian Berletic giving I think a very detailed analysis of our governments conducting business here, there and abroad.

This segment is on the tech sector's scheming with AI to reap economic rent from our population with the use of "corporate socialism" for implementing their data centers people don't want all over the rural landscape under the guise of bringing jobs, prosperity and the wonders of this technology. He talks over a video presentation with the most obscenely rich man on earth, Elon Musk, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, and Tom Brown from Anthropic all explaining their gift to the world that we got to get on board with. Lest China will get the edge and leave us in the dust.

It already has. It isn't because our tech is not up to par. It's our economic system. It can't compete with China from the standpoint that we have let our industry and manufacturing go dormant almost. Replace by finance and service. And the role of government has been hamstrung by Big Tech, Big Banking and Big Wall St. to plan the economy. Our whole economic system is so privatized and expensive now that renewing industry with this system in place is next to impossible.

China has built out their infrastructure and supply chain and planned their economy in stages over the decades to where today they are the standard in nearly everything in all metrics and disciplines.

Socialism in our country has been made an ugly word through propaganda. Useful with pushing the agenda of the economic doctrine we have. Based on small government that shall not interfere with the corporate doctrine. Serving shareholders and the top tier of their enterprise. Privatizing as many functions of the economy as possible. Schools, healthcare, real estate, insurance, childcare etc. And a liberalization of the financial sector to be able to speculate as they choose. Think Big Banking and the real estate bubble of 08 on that note.

China became rich and popular with their people by combining socialism with capitalism. With strict controls on the banking sector. The Bank of China is state owned and operated. Not for profit. That loans towards the industrial and manufacturing sectors that their government plans for years in advance. Schooling, utilities, healthcare, critical industry and manufacture and now real estate is a function of government owned services. That keeps the cost of living low and their ability to innovate high.

Our country lost its way by capitulation to wealth and a faulty economic doctrine from when the Roosevelt years of socialized government commerce and banking that was regulated till the Regan and Clinton Whitehouse's.

The tech bros. offer great idealistic platitudes. But they can't deliver. About as much as Elon Musk can colonize Mars.
