I don't agree with that notion that CDs or creating playlists killed something. When it comes to music, I go for the best sounds. The emergence of digital tools also helped in that aspect.
See, I don't even understand how some of you act like the best way to enjoy music was to play songs from Side A to Side B. We've gone past that era!
From my experience, I can say that music is subjective to how the listener feels, and not majorly by the format or pattern in which they listened to it.
I've had albums that needed me to play the songs in it from the start till finish, and there are those that I had to skip some songs while playing. It is all about having that power to make a choice now.
So, I don't buy the idea that playlists killed anything. Rather, it has created space for more to enjoy the same songs
