I try to make forays into the contemporary music scene. I don't reel in too many, but occasionally I find an artist or group that does me right. A while back I came across a gal that plays the hell out of her guitar. She can shred it, pick it and throw some mean chords down. And she has a rather unique I think vocal tone. Jackie Venson from the Austin Tx. area. A music bonanza center famous for many artists and groups.

But my oldies sustain me with all genres of music. One being Americana music, which covers a wide spectrum. Back in my formative days of staying out late catching the music scene locally. I caught this act of Robert Gordon, that in the 70's was doing a Rockabilly revivalist thing. But he'd throw in all the great Americana foundation of rock, blues and country.
Here with Danny Gatton, a guitarist of legend that unfortunately his life and career ended way too soon. Wished I could've seen him or another guitar legend Robert that accompanied his act, Link Wray.
