Most interesting topic I have ever read here in the forum. Thanks Thermo for the very valuable info you shared. Wow! I was floored!
In my experience I can't stand certain music because they make me either feel depressed, angry and sometimes make my heartbeat faster. That's why I only listen to easy listening and classical.

In my over 60 years of being on earth, I have never felt comfortable playing heavy metal songs. The beats most times make me feel serious migraine that takes hours before I can be able to get better.

I've got a son who enjoys those types of songs, but he dares not play them while I am around because he knows how such songs affect my health. So, in essence, while he derives pleasure from playing such songs, those types of songs are like poison to me.

In the same way that sound can make you ill it can also have the opposite effect as well. Sound can give you a relaxing and calming effect. It can be an aphrodisiac. It can also stimulate brain cells and can be a great tool for studying. It all depends on what sounds or music you are listening to!
Well, this is the reason music lovers should figure out the genres that bring out the best in them. I believe there is music for everyone no matter how some would act like music doesn't really affect them that much.
