Hi, the way it was sometimes it was done was to use either a full track or half track tape recorder to tape it and then to swap the tracks playing when you reverse the tape.  It was also possible to just swap the take up and play reels and play the tape backwards.  :roll:
Honestly, I've not heard such sounds, or maybe it was because I never cared to check some of them. What would you say made them special?
