What are some movies that gave you nightmares as a kid? For me, there are two - It and The Fly. To this day, I shudder at these titles and I've never re-watched them.
It, definitely. I can't believe they are trying to remake the film. They'll never match Tim Curry's performance.
If you want to go really young, showing Watership Down to a small child on the grounds that it is only cartoon rabbits, was not a good thing. I love the movie now, but not when I was pre-school age!

The only movies that made me to be afraid of the dark was The Nun and Annabelle. I wasn't more afraid when I watched The Nun but the scariest moment I had was Annabelle. The baby doll was too scary as it moves with it's speed.

The day that I watched the Nun and Annabelle, I was scared to sleep alone in my room. It took my mom agreeing to come inside the room where I sleep before I was able to catch sleep. That movie wàs so scary that it even made avoid anywhere that is dark.
