I've really liked getting to know and become friends with so many people at LSAF.  It tends to attract a really level-headed bunch. Some audio shows seem to draw in folks that are kind of "flat-earthers" - believing in "voodoo electronics" and attracted to what I'd call "audio jewelry."  The Lone Star Audiofest attracts people that are much more down to earth.

As far as the show itself goes - I think the seminars are great.  The rooms are almost always good sounding and have a good mix of expensive high-end and affordable equipment.  Which brings me back to the comments about voodoo electronics and audio jewelry - even the affordable stuff at LSAF tends to be quite high quality.

There are some changes in the show this year, just like last year.  It's going through an evolution.  So it may be held later in the year, like October.  We'll see.
