I'm looking into buying a new TV Box that gives the best experience of film viewing and gaming. I mostly hear about Android TV boxes, but some reviews say that it's not worth it. Now I'm having doubts about its quality. Do you have other brands that you would recommend?

I use the Pro version of the Nvidia Shield TV, which is powered by Android, and I think it's great for gaming. If you want to go a different route, then have a look at a Roku. They're a popular choice, and they've been around for a while.
The TiVo Stream 4k is still excellent, and it's powered by Android TV so don't rule them all out. If the device stops working, that usually means that the software needs to be updated or the device needs to be restarted. It's annoying as heck, but that's how most internet connected electronics are today. Thankfully, it doesn't happen often.
I was looking into TV boxes too! Android ones are okay, but some cheaper ones lag or stop getting updates.
Go for Xiaomi if your budget is tight. It gives good experience without going over the top. It supports modern video formats like HDR10+. You can stream both movies/shows and also light gaming on it which makes it a great choice.
Also, if you are a fan of Apple products and use a lot of them, you can go for the Apple TV 4k because it integrates well - AirPlay or HomeKit features. It also has long-term support and reliable brand systems. It has a more TV sound but is more expensive than the Xiaomi TV box. Both are good, but I am using a Xiaomi TV box because that's what I was able to afford.
There are a lot of TV boxes that you can get for both movie and gaming experiences. The one that I am currently using at the moment is the Onn 4k Pro and it has served me pretty well for a while now. The good thing about the onn 4k Pro is that you won't have to break the bank before you can be able to get this box which makes it my top recommended TV box.
The other ones that you can check out are NVIDIA Shield TV Pro, TiVo Stream 4K and the Formuler Z11 Pro Max. I've seen a couple of reviews on it, but you should check them yourself if you are planning to get any of these.
