Hey there, I'd like some ideas on home-made boom-boxes. The one's they sell at the stores are alright, but I'd like something custom made that I can take anywhere. Any ideas?

Well, that is the whole idea behind boomboxes.....that you can take them anywhere. By custom made I'm assuming you want better sound. For that, just buy a better set of speakers than the store bought variety offers and build around them.

That sounds like a fun project! I actually like the idea of building your own boom box because you can make it just how you want it. You could start with a sturdy wooden or plastic case, add a couple of good Bluetooth speakers, and maybe a small amp board with a rechargeable battery. Some people even use old toolboxes or vintage suitcases for the body, which looks really cool and portable. It’s a nice weekend project, and the kids might even want to help out too!

Hi. I believe that Parts Express on the web has a few kits that might be right for you.

I haven’t made one myself, but I’ve seen some cool DIY boombox builds. A lot of people use a small toolbox or wooden box, then add a Bluetooth amp board, a couple of speakers, and a rechargeable battery. It turns out pretty portable and unique. If you want something simpler, you can get a Bluetooth speaker kit and put it in whatever case you like.
