The United States and Israel are jointly waging war on Iran, but why? What are their real goals?
What the US empire would like to accomplish is the following:
Maintain US hegemony in West Asia (aka the Middle East)
Destroy the anti-colonial Axis of Resistance, making possible the total colonization of Palestine
Prevent Iran from ever developing nuclear capabilities
Overthrow or at least weaken Iran’s independent, revolutionary government
Scare other countries in the region that may seek to move away from the US and the dollar (especially the Gulf monarchies)
Preserve the petrodollar system, ensuring global demand for the US dollar
Destabilize BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, divide the Global South, and disrupt the multipolar project
Break up the Iran-Russia-China partnership, with the ultimate goal of isolating Beijing
That said, it is of course by no means guaranteed that these goals will be achieved.
My take on this?
Let's hope that none of these goals are achieved. That it leads to the weakening of the United States ability to conduct its habitual and wasteful hegemony cause. And concentrate in on itself. Morally, virtuously and willfully becoming a better nation with the rest of the world. As is, we have been like an Ogre, stomping around causing chaos and discord in the world.
Our deep state must be exposed and rebuked. Never being able to influence our leadership again.

Sometimes a good old ass whuppin' provides a sobering change of heart. Iran provided that to Israel last month. The evil Zionist regime has clamped down on any reporting that Iran's missile exchange did to them. But it was extensive. Had it continued, Israel's means of terror may have been extinguished. Along with it's government. Too bad.
And Iran's military capabilities have certainly gotten America's attention finally. Along with its capability to defend against future missile attacks with what our longstanding belief in military superiority has proven to show the fraud of our military industrial complex. The most expensive yet least efficient ability to produce quantity and quality.
The US and Israel wanted a regime change in Iran. They wanted to bring in the son of the late Shah of Iran. An entitled trust fund brat of a dictator that absconded with Iranian wealth when run out of office with their revolution in the 70's.
Israel along with help from Britain's MI6 and US CIA carried out a decapitation strike first in Iran, killing scientists and military officials, and their family's. And the Trump administration followed up with an air strike to test out those bunker buster bombs.
The whole farse flopped fortunately when Bibi went belly aching to Uncle Sam to make those meanie Iranian's stop raining missiles down on them. That their Iron Dome couldn't cope with. And the US couldn't replenish. Because our bloated war machine spends more on stock buybacks then building weapons efficiently.
