Audio buddy Dan; we tested a few ethernet and USB 2 meter cables
and what a sonic difference. Unfortunately, the only brand I knew
was my Supra. I don't know the other brands. We used my Window 10,
SSD and 32gig ram.
Another interesting aspect was testing different bits/xx, from
16/44.1 min, 24/xx, up to 32/88.2.
We did try higher but without higher rez, the sonics actually
suffered. However, I believe, I could tell that if we had higher
rez recordings, the sonics would have been superior.
We used YouTube Premium (not redbook) and Deezer, (is Redbook).
Quite an interesting experiment as it sometimes depended upon
the recording which setting sounded best. But then some recordings
were over bassed while others lacked bass.

The ethernet cable connects from my "szd" box to the computer for internet
service. I use the usb cable from the computer to my modified DAC.
Dan and I found, at both our residence systems, that changing either
cable to other brands affects the sonic quality.
Inside the windows 10 computer, one can alter from normal redbook
(16/44.1k) to other settings, such as 16/48k, 16/82k, 16/96k, 24/44k and up,
32/44k and up. Changing just the computer's settings alters the sonics.
(My DAC can automatically handle up to 24/192k).
For everyone, if one wishes to test their system.
1. In windows 10, go to "Control Panel", click "Sound".
2. Click on the green arrow to highlight.
3. Click on "Properties" in the bottom right (above "Apply").
Another box opens up.
4. Click on "Advanced" at the top.
Another box opens and you will see the default setting.
5. Click on it and another box opens with lots of different settings
such as 24/44, 24/88, maybe even 32/44 and up, as examples.
Click the setting you want to try and click "Apply".
Click yes if another box opens.
That is about it. I found some settings may not alter the sonics as
much as other settings.
I also have three different audio programs in my win 10.
Windows Media Player
VLC Media Player
Media Player
Right now I am using "Media Player" for audio and "VLC Media Player" for
video movies.
