Hi Everyone. I have a number of PCs and laptops around here. All were happy using Win 10 pro. It seems that in a few months MS was going to pull the plug on updates and patches. I can't be sure that they will do that as there are millions of machines out there that can't comply with the requirements. Regardless, I decided to try 11 on some of the machines. No sweat on the MS GO tablet. A few adjustments to fix things the way I wanted. Then two more using Rufus and a Win 11 ISO. OK and they seem happy. Both BTW are I7 machines that did not meet the specs. Give me a break...I7 16 GB Ram, 1 TB SSDs etc you get the picture. Very competent machines. One PC was past the point of all hope. A Dell core 2 duo running WIN 10 Home 32 4GB, 200 SSD. Just no hope for it so I got a refurb for just over $200 to replace it. Another Dell I5 16 GB 500G SSD and a 1TB HHD with Win 11 on it to be installed. It took a bit of adjusting to make it do what I thought it should but now all is fine. I have two minis running PC scopes. One is Win 11 Pro (came with it) 16 GB 8 core celery and 128 SSD. It does fine on the scope (Pico). The other is a HP I5 with 16 GB and 500GB SSD running 10 Pro. If is off line and needs to stay that way to run the other scope (Velleman). That scope will run on either Win, but is best on 10. Now just one more to go (the one I am using now). It should update without issues as it meets the specs (HP OMEN I7 8 core 32 GB 1TB SSD and RTX video). Generally Win 11 is OK. What I don't like is it makes lots of "typical" settings. It can take quite a while to un-fix them. The various menus are one of the biggest beefs that and hiding stuff I want to use. I still don't like it insisting on using your Microsoft account to use the machine. MS probably thinks I run a business with all the machines registered. Fortunately you can use as many at a time as you want. Have fun when your time comes.
Good Listening
Bruce
