Economist Jeffrey Sachs, an astute mind and orator gave a speech recently at the European parliament in Brussels Belgium. He points out I think the folly of the European Union to have slavishly followed the whim and will of the US dominating hegemony for decades on end to perpetuate its notion of its exceptionalism in the world politically and militarily.

It would be an irony of sorts to the old Domino Theory of the 1960's that was the leading assumption of the US committing to the Vietnam war to stop communist takeover of East Asia. That if the European nations were to wake up to their chronic allegiance with America's war mongering for decades. The alternative to joining the BRICS coalition and pursue stability and prosperity over the latter wasteful and unproductive ideology of the US would be a reverse to the old unrealized domino theory.
