You have great understanding Wayne of the technical side of this technology. I can appreciate that. The politics, now, attributed to it only serve to cheapen the research and development further.
Honestly, I think that is what the piece by Ben Norton points out. The pettiness of our political system.
Our country is at a juncture where its once dominance in the world is fading. And its manifested that by what we've seen in its dealing with the one country alone that challenges that dominance. China. Like the old song lyrics, Anything you can do, we can do better. And cheaper and on and on.
What I read though is China has no aspirations of "dominance" per say in world hegemony as our country has shown. They're just flexing their muscles of vigor to achieve new heights of standards of living. They were in our lifetime one of the poorest countries on earth. Look at them now. Its breathtaking and that should be given great merit.
But its sad to say that our country's leadership has shown that pettiness of politics towards them. They need to grow up.
