I've never been able to play the harmonica, but I've decided that 2025 is finally going to be the year that I will master the instrument (or at least be able to play one simple song). One issue that I've had in the past, is that my hands our on the smaller side, which makes it difficult to cup the instrument properly. Are there any harmonicas that are better suited for a woman's hands?

Just get you a Honer blues band key of c harp and give it a whirl. In the meantime be inspired by this video of an all goil orchestra playing the theme song by the great Italian composer Ennio Morricone from the movie, Once Upon a Time in the West. A woman playing a harmonica at the onset, setting of a lonely foreboding piece of musical genius Morricone was famous for.

I'm somewhat familiar with the harmonica player, Lama Kassem. She's definitely gifted. I hadn't thought to look up which styles other female players use, but it makes perfect sense now. Thanks for giving me the idea, Rusty. Kassem's using an Honer, but I'm not a fan of that brand, so I'm going to try one of her other favorites, like a Suzuki or Seydel model. Hopefully I'll get somewhere this time.

Well You're no novice then. Even knowing who that harp player is. I'd just figured you were a first timer. I don't think you'll be blowin the blues through it. So I'm no help to you. I just appreciate a good player of any style. Good luck and perseverance.

You probably know of old Toots Thielemans also. Here doing another song just right for the harmonica.
Theme to Midnight Cowboy.
