Can anyone remember the last time they heard elevator music in an elevator?

I know I did once or twice, but that's when I was a kid. I don't hear it anymore in the medical facilities I go to.

I visited someone in a hospital recently and you're right, I didn't hear any. Weird.

Years and years ago I was in a financial highrise and they had music. Why not hospitals?

I don't think it's still a thing now because it won't be practical anymore given that elevators are fast now. Maybe there will be elevator music but only in high-end establishments like hotels and the like.

Elevator music would be great for buildings with high floors since I've experienced how awkward it could be to stand and watch the floor number change. Getting my phone doesn't come to mind because I wouldn't want to miss my floor.

Once in a while, I stumble into elevator music when running errands in town. I find it quite soothing, and it makes the space less spooky.

Music in the elevator is a good thing. But I honestly don't even pay attention to it. I always have a player with me when I want music ))

Don't think I've heard actual elevator music. Agree that its disappearance might have something to do with modern elevators' faster speeds. I could see TikTok-like song clips playing between floors.

That also takes away the feeling that you are relaxing a bit before you have to do whatever you have to do once you reach your floor.

The last vestige of relaxation was taken away in favor of speed.
