Hi Wayne, huge fan of your work. I would love a set of 4pi plans.

Also a question. Have you explored the option of lining the enclosure with sheet lead to absorb standing waves? Seems a couple of guys do this to their high end models.

Thanks.

You've got mail!

I've used various insulation materials and I've used constrained-layer panels, with PVC as the damping layer.

I haven't found any damping material that works as well as fiberglass-based R11. And while constrained layer panels definitely damp panel resonance, it didn't give any measurable improvement on my speakers. The bracing that is used is sufficient.

Thank you for the plans.

Lead has amazing energy absorption properties, so I will take before and after measurements to see what it does in a larger enclosure.

Thanks again.

Hi Wayne.

We had already emailed briefly in October.
After studying your theories very interestingly, I would like to build the 4pi.
Would you please also provide me with the blueprint for the cabinet and crossover.

Best regards.
