I don't know about it transforming the world, but it sure does help with all the trials and tribulations. Some music does represent well the time period it was created. Like Credence Clearwater's Fortunate Son.
I think the song, We Are the World, is just as powerful today as it was when it was first released. It raised a ton of money and awareness for the African famine. I still get chills when I hear it. I'm not sure if another song will ever top that one for me.
Music can change the world if every single person is ready to make it work. If we are nonchalant or ignorant of what we have, there's no way we can ever change. Heal the world was one of the song that made great impact on people, I wish we can do more better with good songs.
