I think its been a year or so since I found out that an AI program wrote an article. How long will it take before AI can write a song? Or has it been done already?
Some would say that their songs were so formulaic that it was easy for AI to learn from them. It makes sense when you think about AI trying to learn from Frank Zappa. The easier, the better.
Possibly, but then, it might lack that human touch. Songs become meaningful through their lyrics other than the melody, while lyrics become worthwhile when it rings life experiences.
I don't know about AIs writing song lyrics, but they can probably write melodies or notes. Music producers can use this technology to their advantage to explore and create other forms of sounds and patterns. I think that's what others are doing now, though.
Here's a Nickelback song written by a bot called Nickelbot! I thought it was really funny. The creator put the lyrics of Nickelback songs into the bot, and this is what it came up with.

This is really funny! I like how there are bits and pieces of other Nickelback songs that I can recognize all thrown in here. Do you know if the music itself was written by the bot, or if it was an already existing piece of Nickelback music?
